Vingroup Proposes 17km Sea-Crossing Bridge to Boost Ho Chi Minh City's Coastal Connectivity
Vingroup has proposed a significant infrastructure project to enhance connectivity and sustainability along Ho Chi Minh City's coastal areas. The project, a sea-crossing bridge between Can Gio and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, is urgent due to the limited infrastructure in these strategically important regions.
Vingroup plans to construct this bridge under the build-transfer (BT) model, with an investment capital exceeding 55,800 billion VND (about 2.4 billion USD). The bridge, approximately 17 km long, will have a clearance of up to 56 meters to facilitate the passage of international ships.
The bridge aims to significantly reduce commuting time between Can Gio and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. It will also create a vital traffic corridor, connecting key functional areas within the city. Following the merger of Ba Ria - Vung Tau into Ho Chi Minh City, this bridge will establish a direct transportation axis between the coastal areas.
Vingroup's proposal to build this sea-crossing bridge is a step towards improving regional connectivity and boosting economic development. The project, if approved, will enhance marine economy, tourism, and ecological urban development in the region.
