Vietnam Celebrates Mid-Autumn Festival in Sri Lanka and India, Fostering Cultural Exchange
The Vietnamese Embassies in Sri Lanka and India recently celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, bringing together local children and Vietnamese expatriates for cultural exchange. The events, held on October 4, 2025, marked the first time the festival was organised in Sri Lanka, coinciding with World Children's Day.
In Sri Lanka, the Vietnamese Embassy collaborated with the Truc Lam Zen Monastery in Ambakote, Central Sri Lanka, to host the inaugural Mid-Autumn Festival. The event brought together Sri Lankan and Vietnamese children, with Vice President of the National Assembly Rizvie Salih attending to affirm the close relationship between the two countries.
In India, the festival featured colorful lanterns, folk games, and gifts for children, provided by Ambassador Nguyễn Thanh Hải and Viet Nam Airlines. Hundreds of young people and children from both countries participated in the celebrations, highlighting the growing bond between Vietnam and its neighbours.
The Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations in Sri Lanka and India demonstrated Vietnam's commitment to fostering cultural understanding and cooperation with its neighbours. The events, attended by high-ranking officials and hundreds of children, showcased the shared values and similarities between Vietnam and its regional partners in caring for their youth.
