Summer Camp in Hünfeld Delights Children with Adventurous Activities

The city of Hünfeld played host to a popular summer camp for children aged 10 to 13 this year, running from August 11 to August 15. The camp, which took place daily from 10:30 AM, offered a week of varied activities, much to the delight of the 25 participants.

The week began with an icebreaker session at the Old Lokschuppen, setting the tone for a fun-filled week. On Tuesday, a climbing tour at Hoherodskopf was scheduled, providing an exhilarating start to the midweek. The children experienced a new adventure at the Merkers adventure mine on Thursday, replacing the original activities with an underground laser show.

The camp's highlight came on the last day, with activities at Haselsee and the Rhön Adventure Academy. The children participated in "Action at Haselsee," a series of team challenges designed to foster team spirit. City councilor Karin Grosch, who visited Haselsee, expressed her appreciation for the good atmosphere in the group.

A trip to the water mill in Wallings was part of the activities, where the children learned how corn is ground into flour. Wednesday saw the children enjoying some free time after a city rally in Fulda.

City councilor Karin Grosch was thrilled by the diverse program put together by the camp organizers and personally thanked the supervisors and team members for their commitment. The supervisors were content with the diverse week-long activities offered at the summer camp.

Regrettably, a canoe tour on the Fulda did not take place on the last day of the summer camp in Hünfeld. Despite this, the children left the camp with unforgettable memories and a renewed sense of team spirit. The summer camp in Hünfeld proved to be a resounding success, providing a week of fun, games, and physical movement for the children.

The diverse program at the summer camp in Hünfeld wasn't limited to just adventurous outdoor activities; it also featured a home-and-garden session, teaching children about the traditional water mill and the process of grinding corn into flour. To add a touch of travel and exploration to the camp, a day trip to an underground laser show mine was part of the plan, though an outdoor-living workshop may have been initially scheduled instead. Finally, the lifestyle of the children was enriched by participating in an adventure-travel experience at the Rhön Adventure Academy on the last day.
