Does my personal car insurance cover rental cars?
Your personal auto insurance policy may cover most rental cars within the US and Canada, with the same coverage limits and deductibles. However, outside North America, your auto policy usually won't suffice, making rental car coverage vital when exploring foreign lands.
What does our Rental Car Care cover?
Our Rental Car Care provides:
- Up to $50,000 in damage or theft protection: In case of accidental damage to your rental car, like collision, vandalism, natural disaster, or theft related to your rental car.
- Travel Inconvenience Coverage: If you encounter unexpected closures at attractions, beaches, or encounter rental vehicle breakdowns, you can be reimbursed up to $200 per inconvenience, up to a maximum of $600 total per trip.
- Customizable rental car coverage: Choose which days of your trip you'll need rental car coverage for and purchase it for every vehicle you're renting. Coverage starts at $6.95 a day for California residents and $7.58 a day for residents of other states. This add-on may not be available in all states.
- 24/7 assistance: We're here 24/7 (including weekends and holidays) and offer access to our award-winning app, where you can easily chat with our support team, file claims quickly, and get reimbursed on approved claims to your phone's wallet.
