Domestic tourism increased by about 8% this year, and Sochi is particularly popular for sea vacations in August. The meeting discussing the tourist flow was chaired by Deputy Mayor of Sochi, Sergey Somko, who noted that the number of tourists in Sochi has increased by 7,000 compared to two weeks ago. Approximately 4.5 million tourists have visited Sochi this year. Despite this growth, approximately 1,400 administrative offense protocols have been issued since the beginning of the season to maintain order and safety.
The occupancy rate in the mountain cluster of Sochi is 75%, indicating a balance between sea and mountain tourism. The city continues to prioritise the safety and enjoyment of its visitors, with a focus on ensuring compliance with anti-terrorist legislation through regular monitoring of 117 hotel complex objects and beach areas.
