The cities that emerged as the best destinations for a digital detox are as follows:

  1. Colorado Springs, Colorado — Slower internet speed (145 Mbps), 64% 5G coverage, 56 trail miles per 100K residents, 60 off-grid Airbnbs per 100K residents, and high wellness center density.

Colorado Springs takes the top spot due to its balanced connectivity, abundant nature trails, and plentiful wellness resources, making it an ideal destination for unplugging.

  1. Boise, Idaho — Very low 5G coverage (34%), 66 trail miles per 100K residents, low artificial brightness for stargazing, and affordable off-grid Airbnbs with high ratings.

Portland offers 9 community gardens per 100K residents and strong parkland coverage, with parks and green space making up 16% of its total area. It also boasts off-the-grid Airbnb stays, like cabins and country homes, averaging a reasonable $295.53 per night.
