Sheltered on the eastern coast of Sardinia island, Italy, Cala Goloritzé has bagged the title of 'World's Best Beach' by The World's 50 Best Beaches 2023 panel.

A UNESCO-certified site, Cala Goloritzé showcases its mesmerizing limestone cliffs, sparkling white pebbles, and sapphire-blue waters.

"Cala Goloritzé transcends beyond a simple beach - its raw, breathtaking splendor stirs an intimated response the instant you witness it," critiques noted in their report.

Beyond its dramatic 143-meter limestone pinnacle, its unbelievably transparent waters, and the beach's remarkable preservation, thanks to local authorities' conservation efforts, the judges enlisted it as "an exquisite union of unspoiled natural beauty and a beach experience like no other."

Limited to accommodating 250 visitors daily, guests need to book their visit via the Heart of Sardinia app. Cala Goloritzé was designated a Natural Italian Monument in 1995.

Also featuring in the top spots were Entalula Beach in the Philippines and Bang Bao Beach in Thailand, along with Fteri Beach in Greece and PK 9 Beach in Fakarava, French Polynesia.

The World's 50 Best Beaches ranking is determined by votes from over 1,000 travel industry professionals. Evaluations are based on eight distinct criteria: unique characteristics, thriving wildlife, untouched nature, soothing natural sounds, effortless water entry, calm conditions, minimal overcrowding, and consistency of picture-perfect settings.

"We strive to find the world's ideal beaches by taking into account essential elements," Tine Holst, co-founder of The World's 50 Best Beaches, shared with Forbes. "Our ambassadors, judges, and team typically favor natural beauty, tranquility, and places that elicit an emotional response."
