Director Naomi KawaseAs a talented Director born in Nara, Japan, Naomi Kawase graduated from Osaka University of the Arts in 1989. With international award-winning documentaries like Embracing (1992) and Escargot (1994), Naomi has been making waves since 1995[2]. Her first feature, Suzaku, won the Camera d'or at the Directors' Fortnight in 1997[2]. Her filmography continues to impress, with multiple feature films selected for competition at the Cannes Film Festival, such as Shara, The Mourning Forest (Grand Prix 2007), Hanezu (2011), and Still the Water (2014)[2]. Sweet Red Bean Paste made its debut in 2015 as the opening film for the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes Film Festival. Naomi is also a renowned documentary filmmaker[2], receiving the Carrosse d'or from the Directors' Fortnight in 2009 and being made a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Minister of Culture in 2015. She headed the Jury at the 66th Cannes Film Festival, led by Steven Spielberg[2].

Claudia PuigClaudia Puig is a celebrated film journalist residents in LA. Working for National Public Radio's Film Week since 2005, Claudia also served as the lead critic at USA Today for 15 years, hosting The Screening Room video series. She has also reviewed books during her tenure[3]. Before that, Claudia was a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times for 11 years, covering city government, courts, and the entertainment industry. During her tenure, she was part of a team of journalists that won the Pulitzer for spot news reporting of the 1992 Los Angeles uprising[3].
