Modern visitor experiences are made attainable due to financial support from leaders
The Hallertau region, renowned for its rich history and hop cultivation, is set to become even more attractive with the launch of a new project. The LEADER project, titled "The Digital Hallertau Experience," has received approval on June 12, 2025, and is being led by Carolin Meinhold, the project leader of the Hopfenland Hallertau Tourism e.V.
The project is a collaborative effort involving four local action groups: LAG Landkreis Kelheim e.V., LAG Landkreis Landshut e.V., LAG Mittlere Isarregion e.V., and LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm e.V. Tina Schuler, the manager of the leading LAG Landkreis Pfaffenhofen, expressed her excitement, stating that the project will create a free leisure offer that will make the Hallertau even more attractive and well-known.
The project aims to improve, expand, and attract new audience groups to the Hallertau experience for both locals and guests. Within the project, four digital audio tours will be created in the Hallertau region. These tours will focus on making the culture, tradition, history, and hop cultivation of the communities in the Hallertau region accessible and tangible.
Two digital bike tours will also be created: one from Rudelzhausen via Au i. d. Hallertau and Nandlstadt to Freising, and another one through the ILE Holledauer Tor area. In addition, digital city tours are planned for Wolnzach and Mainburg.
The audio tours created within the project will not include any advertisements but rather provide a free leisure offer for everyone. The digital offer is designed to make the Hallertau experience more accessible and appealing to a wider audience.
The project is supported by the European funding program LEADER with a total of 30,432 euros. Agnes Stiglmaier and Tina Schuler officially handed over the approval notice to Carolin Meinhold, signifying the official commencement of the project.
With the implementation of "The Digital Hallertau Experience," it is expected that the Hallertau region will become more attractive to tourists and locals alike, fostering a deeper appreciation for its rich history and traditions.
