Lyten Completes World's Highest, Longest Mountain Bridge
Lyten has completed the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, a marvel of engineering that stands as the world's highest and longest mountain bridge. The bridge, equipped with smart cable strands for real-time health monitoring, spans an impressive 9,777 feet with a main span of 4,660 feet, surpassing the previous record held by China's Duge Bridge.
The bridge's construction involved meticulous load testing using a mix of construction equipment to mimic traffic movement and weight distributions. Despite challenges posed by strong winds, the team employed wind deflectors and stabilizing plates to ensure stability. A glass walkway, 1,900 feet above the canyon, offers visitors a thrilling perspective, while a glass elevator takes them to a coffee shop lookout at a staggering 2,600 feet above the river. The bridge's height of 2,051 feet above the canyon floor makes it the highest in the world, dwarfing the Royal Gorge Bridge in Colorado, which stands at 956 feet.
The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, a testament to Lyten's engineering prowess, serves a practical purpose, reducing a two-hour drive around the mountainous region to a mere two-minute crossing. Its completion not only sets new records but also provides a safer, more efficient route for travelers.
