BP Pulse Opens Largest US EV Charging Hub Near LAX Airport

BP Pulse, an EV charging solutions provider, has unveiled its largest US Gigahub near Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). This new charging station, designed to serve ride-hail and taxi fleets, is part of BP Pulse's network of large, high-capacity EV fast-charging hubs [1][2][5].

Located just two miles from LAX Airport, the new Gigahub features 48 DC charging piles with a mix of 150kW and 400kW options. It offers an array of EV fast charging solutions to support the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) and drivers [1][3].

The LAX Gigahub, the largest bp pulse charging station in the US, boasts numerous customer amenities. These include a lounge, vending machines, restrooms, and complimentary WiFi, all aimed at enhancing the customer experience during charging sessions [1][2][5].

BP Pulse's expansion plan for its Gigahubs focuses on establishing these large, high-capacity EV charging hubs in high-demand urban locations across the U.S. The strategic focus is to locate them near areas with high EV charging demand, such as airports and urban centers, and to emphasize scalability and user convenience through ultrafast charging technology and additional amenities [1][3].

BP Pulse, which operates under the umbrella of one of the most notorious oil companies, has already implemented over 40,000 EV charge points worldwide and has over 8,000 locations across 46 states in the US [1][4]. The new LAX hub is a collaboration between bp pulse and Hertz, partially funded by a $2 million grant from the California Energy Commission (CEC) [2].

BP Pulse's Gigahub expansion plan includes the launch of a new Gigahub in Boston, aiming to provide fast, reliable EV charging and support the transition to electric transportation [3].

Sujay Sharma, CEO of bp pulse Americas, emphasized the commitment to expanding the charging network. He stated, "We are excited to bring our Gigahub to LAX and to continue our expansion across the US. Our goal is to make EV charging simple, reliable, and cost-effective for drivers and fleet operators." [6]

The new LAX Gigahub is expected to open to the public soon. It will serve as a significant step towards BP Pulse's goal of building a robust and comprehensive charging network to support the increasing number of EV drivers and ride-hail fleets.
