Krasnodar Krai's Grand Wine Festival: Six Days, Six Vineyard Territories, One Million Visitors Expected
A grand wine festival is set to take place in Krasnodar Krai from September 30 to October 5, covering six territories known for their vineyards and diverse educational programs. The festival will culminate in a wine fair and street theater performance on Lake Abrau.
In recent years, Krasnodar Krai has seen a significant increase in wine tourism. The number of wineries accepting tourists has grown sixfold to 30, with over 1 million visitors in 2024. The region aims to further promote eno- and gastronomy tourism by developing logistics and creating extended routes like the 'Wine Roads of the Krasnodar Territory'.
Wine Week, the large-scale enogastronomic event, offers free tours to wine tourism facilities with prior registration. These include vineyards, family wineries, museum exhibitions, and author's cuisine pairings. Additionally, a modern wine bar with a large collection of domestic wines is almost ready to open in Gelendzhik as part of a larger enogastronomic tourism project aiming to represent the region's enoculture by 2026.
The festival and the ongoing projects are expected to further boost enotourism in Krasnodar Krai, with Kuban, the leading wine region in Russia, already contributing significantly to its growth. The region hopes to attract more visitors and showcase its rich enoculture.
