Hamm's Latest Display: Experience Witnessing

The Gustav-Lübcke-Museum in Hamm, Germany, is set to host the traveling exhibition "Become a Second Witness" from August 10, 2025, to January 11, 2026. The exhibition, presented by Zweitzeugen e.V., focuses on the life stories of four Holocaust survivors: Chava Wolf, Henny Brenner, Dr. Leon Weintraub, and Wolfgang Lauinger.

The exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Nazi dictatorship and carries the motto "get to know, remember, pass on," standing for an open society free of antisemitism and discrimination. It aims to educate visitors about the experiences of the survivors during childhood, persecution, and their lives afterwards.

Interactive media stations and hands-on activities are included in the exhibition, connecting the past to the present and encouraging reflection. For instance, free hands-on activities such as "Now it's your turn! Your sign against antisemitism" will be offered on September 2, November 12, and December 2, 2025.

City tours and readings about stolpersteine and Jewish life in Hamm are also offered as part of the exhibition. Visitors can learn more about the history and culture of the Jewish community in Hamm.

For those interested in educational workshops, various workshops for school classes can be booked from the 7th grade onwards, with prices starting at 55 euros.

The exhibition opening will take place on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 3 PM, with a welcome by Mayor Marc Herter and a panel discussion on the topic "Never again is now!".

In addition to the exhibition, Hamm has other news to share. Farmers in Hamm are rejoicing over favorable harvest weather, while a demonstration is taking place in front of Hamm Zoo. Efforts are also being made to reduce waste through cafeteria fines in Hamm.
