The new service offers twice-weekly return flights between Dubai and Chisinau, starting from October 1, 2022. The inaugural flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute at Eugen Doga International Airport. Local airport officials, including Sergiu Spoială, General Director of International Airport, were present at the inaugural flight.

Passenger numbers on the route to Bucharest have grown by an average of 16% annually since Flydubai started flights in 2012. In response to this growth, Flydubai has increased its flights from a three-times weekly service to a triple daily service on the Bucharest route. From October 1, 2022, Emirates airline will offer flights three times daily between Dubai and Bucharest, further enhancing connectivity for passengers.

Jeyhun Efendi, divisional senior VP of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said in a statement sent to Khaleej Times, "We are pleased to announce the launch of our new service between Dubai and Chisinau, our third destination in Moldova. This route will offer more opportunities for travellers to connect with Dubai's international aviation hub and beyond."
