Featured Pupil: Grace Conroy, Class of '25
Grace Conroy, a student at Holy Cross College, is set to graduate in the year 2025. Hailing from Minneapolis, MN, Conroy has made a name for herself on campus with her diverse interests and engaging personality.
In the realm of academia, Conroy is a Chemistry major, but her passion for learning extends beyond the laboratory. Three courses stand out as her favourites: Organic Chemistry with Professor Sculimbrene, Chinese with Hao Laoshi, and Liberation Theology with Professor Gonzalez, all of which she considers equally significant.
Outside of the classroom, Conroy is an active member of the Holy Cross community. She is involved in a variety of campus activities, including the Student Business and Innovation Program (SBIP), College Choir, SPUD, Senior Class Gift, Senior Admission Fellow, AMSA, Club Hockey, and as a Biochemistry research assistant.
When it comes to relaxation, Conroy has a few favourite pastimes. She enjoys unwinding with a good book, with Rough Sleepers by Tracy Kidder and Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson among her favourites. For television, she is currently hooked on "Only Murders in the Building."
Music plays a significant role in Conroy's life, and she has a soft spot for musicals. This guilty pleasure often finds its way into her leisure time, whether she's listening to them or watching them.
As for food, Conroy's favourite meal is the Chicken Teriyaki Dumplings at Kimball. When it comes to beverages, her go-to drink is an iced soy milk latte from Cool Beans.
Socialising is important to Conroy, and she cherishes her time with her roommate, Lauren, especially before bed. When she goes home to Minneapolis, she looks forward to seeing her family and their two dogs, Sherman and Buddy.
Travel is another passion for Conroy. She has visited Freeport, ME and Shanghai, China, and cherishes these experiences. Her favourite spots on campus are Hogan 1 and Campion.
After graduation, Conroy plans to spend a year doing service and gaining clinical experience before applying to medical school. Despite her busy schedule, she remains a beloved figure on the Holy Cross campus, known for her infectious enthusiasm and love for all things musical.
