A Parkinson's Specialist Nurse, Lauren Hogan, has been appointed in Goulburn to support individuals living with the disease in the Goulburn, Yass, and Crookwell areas. Hogan, a Goulburn local and Registered Nurse with 13 years of experience at Goulburn Base Hospital, has been clinically responsible for nursing, assessment, planning for Parkinson's patients, fall prevention, multidisciplinary teamwork, and infection control.
The appointment was made possible by years of fundraising by the Goulburn Support Group and support from local entities such as the Goulburn Workers Club, Goulburn Invitational, and Ganter Constructions. The lattermade an additional donation during the announcement event but was unable to attend.
Gill O'Connor, a member of the Goulburn Support Group, expressed gratitude for the community's support, stating that it had been their dream for over a decade to secure such a position for the region.
