European Union organizes free travel expeditions for 36,000 young individuals across Europe

The European Union Commission has announced it will be distributing 36,000 free train travel tickets for young people across Europe, valid from July to September this year. Eligible participants must be at least 18 years old at the start of their journey and can apply via the Commission's platform. Citizens from EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Turkey are encouraged to participate.

Germany leads the pack in terms of applicant numbers, followed closely by Spain and Poland. According to the Commission, over 6,100 German youth have secured a ticket since the program's inception in 2018. The "DiscoverEU" initiative, a European Union initiative intended to foster youth mobility, has granted a total of 391,000 tickets to date. In addition to the train tickets, beneficiaries can enjoy discounts at accommodation and cultural institutions.

Although specific data for the 2022 round has not been disclosed, the program has become increasingly popular since its launch. Potential applicants are encouraged to seek further information from the Commission's official announcements or press releases related to youth travel initiatives for the current year.

Young people in Germany, Spain, and Poland have shown a keen interest in the "DiscoverEU" initiative, with Germany leading the pack in terms of applicants. This European Union-funded program offers the chance for eligible participants to experience a new lifestyle and travel across Europe, with discounts available at accommodation and cultural institutions.
