Dubai Airport Initiates Extensive Operational Strategy to Accommodate Hajj Travelers

Over 3,100 Hajj Pilgrims to Depart Seamlessly from Dubai International Airport

Dubai Airports has prepared a large-scale operational plan in collaboration with government and airline partners to ensure a smooth and stress-free departure for over 3,100 pilgrims embarking on Hajj 2025.

The initiative, scheduled during one of the year's busiest travel periods, coinciding with Eid Al Adha and summer peak, includes 28 dedicated flights operated by Emirates, flydubai, Saudia, and flynas. The Dubai Government delegation will start their journey on 1 June from Terminal 3.

To manage the crowds, Dubai Airports, in collaboration with the oneDXB community, has put in place several essential measures. These include dedicated check-in counters spread across Terminals 1, 2, and 3, multilingual support staff, prayer rooms, Ihram changing facilities, and designated baggage belts for Zamzam water handling.

Pilgrims are advised to arrive at Dubai International (DXB) at least four hours before their departure and to carry essential documents such as a passport, Emirates ID, Hajj permit, and vaccination certificate.

"Our goal is to ensure these pilgrims depart with confidence and return with ease," said Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports.

Return flights are expected between June 9 and 12, with preparations in place for coordinated baggage support and a warm reception, including a token of appreciation for returning pilgrims. The high number of Hajj travelers is expected to coincide with an increase in overall passenger traffic at DXB, highlighting the significance and importance of this well-planned operation.

Dubai Airports works closely with various authorities, including Dubai Police, GDRFA, Dubai Customs, Dubai Ambulance Services, dnata, and airline partners to ensure security, efficiency, and a seamless pilgrimage experience for all travelers departing from and returning to Dubai International Airport.
