Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa: A Luxurious Retreat in the Heart of Marrakech

The Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa, nestled in the Nouvelle Ville (New Town) or Hivernage district, offers a luxurious and elegant blend of French and Moroccan style. This grand hotel is situated on a quiet and leafy boulevard, providing a restful base for exploring the city's many attractions.

Amenities Galore

The hotel boasts a heated pool, which can be used year-round, even in the early morning or evening, and even in the rain. After a refreshing swim, guests can relax on the terrace, where grill out serves up chicken skewers, steak cooked to order, and traditional tagines with couscous. The hotel's restaurant offers an unbelievable variety, from sushi to paté, to a paella-like seafood-and-rice dish, and breakfast features an array of Moroccan breads and honey, English breakfast staples, bread and cheese, croissants and other pastries, and delicious fresh juices.

Accommodation Options

The hotel offers two options for accommodation: the Sofitel Lounge and Spa, decorated in neutral grey tones, and the Palais Imperial, with more traditionally Moroccan decor and warm, red tones. The suite at the Palais Imperial features gorgeous dark wood furniture with deep red trimmings, a huge comfortable bed trailed with rose petals, two bathrooms with big marble worktops, and a beautiful balcony area affording a fantastic view of the stunning grounds around the pool. The standard twin room, on the other hand, offers a lovely curved archway into a large bathroom with Moroccan tiling, and a balcony overlooking the pool and the ghost-like, misty Atlas Mountains in the distance.

Convenient Location

The Sofitel Marrakech is conveniently located, being within a few minutes walking distance of all the major attractions in Marrakech. The hotel is just a twenty-minute walk from the Djemma el Fna, and is conveniently located close to the busy heart of the Nouvelle Ville. For those who prefer not to walk, taxis are readily available.

Exploring Marrakech

The top attractions near the hotel include the Majorelle Garden, a beautiful botanical garden featuring exotic plants and vibrant blue architecture, a must-visit for art and nature lovers. The historic Medina, with iconic sites like Jemaa el-Fna Square, the Koutoubia Mosque, and the Royal Palace, is also within walking distance or a short taxi ride away, offering a rich cultural and historical experience.

In the Nouvelle Ville/Gueliz area, Carre Eden (on Avenue Mohammed V) and Menara Mall (on Avenue Mohammed VI) provide modern shopping experiences alongside traditional markets, reflecting Marrakech's blend of old and new. For more adventurous guests, quad biking tours to the nearby desert and palm oasis are available for exploring the natural landscapes around Marrakech.

Exceptional Service

The staff at the Sofitel Marrakech were impeccable, smiling and offering greetings as guests passed. The hotel rooms are cleaned twice a day, and the staff are quick to help with any issues or requests.

Nightlife

SoFun, the Sofitel's bar and nightclub, features a live band that belts out a great mix of tunes along with some incredible dance moves.

In summary, the Sofitel Marrakech Palais Impérial & Spa is a luxurious hotel that offers a blend of French and Moroccan style, a variety of delicious food options, and a convenient location near Marrakech's top attractions. With its exceptional service, beautiful decor, and range of amenities, it is an ideal choice for a memorable stay in Marrakech.
