California, known for its diverse landscapes and rich history, is home to 28 national parks and national monuments. From the towering sequoias of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to the volcanic peaks of Lassen Volcanic National Park, there's a park for every nature lover.

Established on September 25, 1890, Sequoia National Park was created to protect the Big Trees in Giant Forest, including the General Sherman Tree, the world's largest living thing. Adjacent to Sequoia, Kings Canyon National Park offers breathtaking mountain vistas and hiking opportunities, with its deep canyons and groves of giant sequoias.

Yosemite National Park, located in central California, is another popular destination, known for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, and giant sequoia groves. It attracts millions of visitors each year and is famous for its iconic landmarks like Half Dome and El Capitan.

Joshua Tree National Park, situated at the eastern end of Southern California's Transverse mountain ranges, is a unique desert landscape where the Mojave and Colorado Deserts meet. It is famous for its unique rock formations and Joshua Trees, making it popular among rock climbers and those who enjoy desert landscapes.

Lassen Volcanic National Park, located about eight miles northeast of Mineral, CA, or fifty miles east of Red Bluff, CA on Highway 36 or 50 miles east of Redding, CA on Highway 44, offers a more remote and less crowded experience compared to the other parks, with its volcanic peaks and hydrothermal sites.

Pinnacles National Park, located in central California, was designated as a national monument in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt and became a national park in 2013. Known for its unique volcanic rock formations and diverse wildlife, including California condors, it is a popular spot for hiking and rock climbing.

Channel Islands National Park, located off the coast of Southern California, includes five islands with unique ecosystems and diverse marine life. Ideal for snorkeling, kayaking, and exploring marine wildlife, it offers a different perspective on California's natural beauty.
