Boosting Air Services: Cathay Pacific Increases Flights to Australia and New Zealand, Expanding Travel Opportunities

Cathay Pacific Expands Its Presence in Australia and New Zealand

Cathay Pacific, a renowned airline known for its award-winning service and safety, is increasing its flight frequencies across Australia and New Zealand. The airline's expansion plan for 2025 aims to cater to growing travel demand and connectivity needs in the region.

From October 27, 2025, Cathay Pacific will operate double daily flights to Brisbane and Perth, each reaching 14 weekly flights. This move significantly boosts the airline's presence in these cities.

In New Zealand, Cathay Pacific is boosting its presence as well. The airline will increase its Auckland service to 11 weekly flights starting December 2, 2025. Moreover, the seasonal Christchurch service will return earlier to cover the Southern Hemisphere summer comprehensively.

Perth will also see the reintroduction of flights to Auckland and Johannesburg starting in December 2025, enhancing connectivity.

These expansions are part of Cathay Pacific and its subsidiary HK Express's broader 2025 plan, which aims to operate passenger services to 100 destinations worldwide and fully restore pre-pandemic flight levels. The expansions leverage the increased capacity following the commissioning of Hong Kong's Three-Runway System, reinforcing Hong Kong's status as an international aviation hub.

Cathay Pacific's expansion in Australasia includes the resumption of seasonal services to Cairns and the addition of seasonal services to Adelaide. These services will operate from December 10, 2025, to February 28, 2026, for Cairns, and from November 12, 2025, to March 27, 2026, for Adelaide.

In addition to these expansions, Cathay Pacific will add 18 new destinations in 2025 as part of its growth strategy. As of June 2025, Cathay Pacific now flies to 100 destinations globally.

Passengers can expect Cathay Pacific's signature inflight service, which includes Michelin-starred dining partnerships, Asia-Pacific's largest inflight entertainment library, and a perfect seven-star safety rating. Cathay Pacific has been ranked among the top three safest carriers globally this year and has been recognized as offering the world's best Economy class experience.

This strategic growth in Australasia reflects Cathay Pacific's commitment to meeting growing travel demand and connectivity needs in 2025.

Cathay Pacific's expansion in Australasia not only caters to the growing travel demand but also influences the lifestyle of travelers, as the increased frequencies and destinations offer more opportunities for exploration. The airline's growth strategy, including the addition of new services in cities such as Cairns and Adelaide, makes it easier for passengers to delve into diverse travel experiences.
