Hailing from Fresno, where'd you spend your days before stepping into the creative realm?
Chris: Born and raised in Fresno, I've bounced around a bit - Santa Cruz, Chicago, Sacramento, but as a magnet for home, I somehow always find my way back here.
Care to share your education background?
Chris: I'm an alumnus of Sunnyside High School, then I honed my skills at the Universal Technical Institute in Sacramento.
Anime and superheroes seem to be your main muse – can you walk us through your artistic style?
Chris: I passionately create art centering around western superheroes and anime characters – a heavy emphasis on early 2000s anime styles in my fan art. During my streaming sessions, which educational in nature, I delve into traditional fundamentals for precise techniques.
Your artistic journey has focused on various mediums – which ones are you partial to and why?
Chris: As a traditional artist at heart, I prefer working with alcohol inks and brushes, yet I also indulge in digital artwork—especially with client work for its versatility.
Artist for 12 years – did you always envision taking this creative path?
Chris: Not at all! Prior to my artistic endeavors, I worked as an auto mechanic for years and found myself craving a change. Drawing at the age of 25 opened a whole new world for me, and I knew I wanted to leave the automotive field behind.
