Americas' favorite accents have been revealed through a recent survey

Kicking it old-school, let's dissect the comments that make us tick. In an informal survey conducted by Answering Service Care, they questioned over 2,000 U.S. adults about their perceptions on various accents. What they uncovered is a world ofêlot more than 'just' accents - they're about identity, trust, and initial impressions.

America's heart lies in the South, according to the majority of respondents. With over 38% of votes, Southern accents scream hospitality and friendliness. States such as Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, and South Carolina are much-beloved for their signature drawl. But wait, there's more! The second place in the friendliest-accent race goes to Hawaii, with a whopping 34% of the votes. With its laid-back vibes and tropical paradise, Hawaii's accent makes it a hit with Americans!

Now, if you're still calling Texas part of the South, well, honey, you could change your tune. Texans' accents finished right behind Hawaii, with 31% of respondents admiring their drawl. Is that y'all I hear clapping my assessment on?

On a lighter note, if you're tired of certain accents, just move to New York or Boston 😜. Those two accents stood out as the least friendly, followed closely by Bostonians' neighbors from Rhode Island. Don't worry, if you're rocking a Midwest or Mountain West accent (Utah included), you're in the clear! Those accents are seen as among the least annoying.

But hey, what about us, the accent-proud Americans? It seems New Englanders are leading the pack with their charming twang. With 67% of Vermont residents being proud of their accent, it's no mystery why they strive to maintain their roots. New Mexico and Kentucky follow closely, with accents that showcase the area's unique blend of cultural influences.

Phew, all that talk about accents got me craving some fried fish from a Soul Food joint and a Mai Tai on the beach, looking for the perfect Southern or Hawaiian accent to set the mood! 🍤🍹🎄🌴
