Albania's Tourism Booms, Led by Tirana's 15.4% Surge in Visitors

Albania's tourism is booming, with Tirana, its capital, leading the way. The city has seen a 15.4% increase in arrivals, making it the primary gateway into the country. This surge follows an average annual growth rate of 12.2% in foreign guests.

Tirana, known for its lively taverns, Skanderberg Square, and the iconic Pyramid, draws visitors with its vibrant culture and stunning views. Korce, a cultural hub in Eastern Albania, has also witnessed a 10.9% growth in visitors, showcasing the country's diverse attractions.

Durres, Albania's second most-populous city, is the fourth fastest-growing destination with an 8.6% year-on-year increase in visitors. It is home to one of the largest Roman amphitheaters in the Balkan Peninsula. Meanwhile, Vlora, set to become Albania's 'second' airport hub, has seen a 12.3% yearly growth in visitors, positioning itself as a rising Mediterranean destination.

Albania's tourism has grown significantly, from 4 million visitors in 2015 to an average of 12 million per year. With its rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse attractions, Albania is poised to continue its tourism growth, with Tirana, Korce, Durres, and Vlora leading the way.
